If i download it, then download a bunch of songs within a day, then delete the program, will my music still work that i downloaded from it?
haha yes it sounds confusing, but i really dont like limewire because of all the problems that arise, ive lost a hard drive to it before and dont want to repeat that
Please answer...thanks
When you made a special directory where you instructed Limewire to copy your music to, then yes you can still play your music. When you left the default directory as it was when installing limewire No the music is gone after you uninstalled limewire.
When I tell you how to download music with limewire the right way, will you give limewire a try again. It is still one of the best programs to download music and movies.
The mistake is made to think, that limewire has viruses and therefore will infect your computer.
I can tell you, Limewire does not have viruses. What limewire and all other p2p programs have is fake files. Download a fake file and you pc is infected.
Therefore you should avoid downloading these files.
Every time you search for music or movies you see a lot of those small files, Much too small to be a song or movie.
Therefolimewire musicre it is very likely that those small files are fake files.
To minimize the risk of getting infected, start downloading files higher than 2500kb.
Nothing is 100% safe, so when a virus slips through, your updated anti virus will take care of it.
Then you can do a scan in safe mode, to make sure the virus is gone
What you should do, is make a directory on your d drive
and call it for example d:/Limewire Music.
Copy all your music you already download to that directory.
Now you go to limewie extra options and change there also the download directory to d:/Limewire Music, From now on all your limewire downloads go that new directory.
Your music is safe now in case you uninstall limewire or when you have to format your c drive
You should still have the music, but before you delete limewire, make sure you have all of your songs in a media player. I use Windows Media Player when I'm putting music into my phone and iTunes when I'm placing music into my iPod (which broke!!!).
You can also place the music into a folder before you delete limewire. Just create a folder under "My Music," so you won't lose it or anything.
-Good Luck
install mediamonkey so it grabs tlimewire musiche music you downloaded then uninstall if you like but they cannot catch you if you are afraid.
as I notice that limewire i installing it as a .mu3 file.
you can loook for it in youor limewire file but when you uninstll limewire becareful not to uninstall their storage file.
no. once you remove limewire the songs won't work. however (and i've never tried this) it may be possible to place your songs on a flash drive, cd, etc. then remove limewire and the songs (which still stay on your computer but do not work) and put the songs back on from the storage device
as long as those music files have an extension like mp3 or something, then they should be just fine.
just to be safe, maybe you should copy a folder of those songs onto the desktop, or write them on to a cd or something.
Yes, your music will mostly be there.
Also if u dont like limewire you could download Bearshare or Ares if you like. Both have free versions and Bearshare is also legal!
limewire doesnt give people viruses its the stuff u download that has viruses so theres no use in getting rid of limewire
I'm sure it will if you save it into Windows Media Player first.
