So, I am just doing a basic computer clean out. Deleting programs I don't use at all. But there are some programs I have no idea what they are, and not sure if I need them or my computer would be messed up....
Now, I know all the programs installed on the first date I need, so even if I don`t know what some of them are, I won`t post them because I know they are needed. Anyway, here they are:
1. ANIO Service & ANIWZCS2 Service
- I looked them up just now, it seems they are a virus you cannot un-install...
- They`ve been on my computer since early 2009.
- They were installed on the same date as my wireless internet thing, it`s AirPlus Xtreme G by D-Link.
- So, do these relate to the D-Link? Or are they just viruses, that I should get rid of?
2. Nullsoft Install System
- Do I need this to install programs? Because it was downloaded like 2 weeks after I got the computer.
- The last time is was used was the same date is was installed.
3. ASIO4ALL
- I have no idea what this is...
- Last time it was used, same date it was installed.
4a. Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SPI
- Apparently it was installed on "30/07/2009" but last used on "03/02/2009"?
- Do I need this for something, "Framework"?
4b. Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 ATL Update kb973923 - x8....
- It was installed on the same date as the "Framework" thing, so I assume they relate.
- It was never used.
5. Microsoft Sync Framework Runtime Native v1.0 & Microsoft Sync Framework Services Native v1.0
- Never been used.
- Installed on same date.
6. Uninstall 1.0.0.1
- Installed March 2011
- There is no Publisher
- It has never been used
7. Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable
- This was downloaded twice in 2011, 1 month apart from each other.
Now, I don't think the rest of these programs need any details...
- Intel Storage Manager
- Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Client Profile
- Search Settings v1.2.3
- Vista Codehotspot shield 1.07c Package
- Hotspot Shield 1.50
- MSXML 4.0 SP2 (KB954430) & MSXML 4.0 SP2 (KB973688)
- Bonjour
- HPSSupply
- Intel(R) Graphics Media Accelerator Driver
- Conduit Engine
Okay, this is a lot of programs I have no idea what they are, and how I got them... So if you could do your best to tell me if I should delete em or keep em, thanks!
I do give Best Answers.
with windows I will tell you to leave well alone.
1) ANIO & ANIWZCS2 are part of your wireless drivers - so don't remove this.
2) Nullsoft install system is a generic installer, its quite safe to leave it as is. If you remove it you may find you can't install or remove something else in future. This one's really up to you.
3) ASIO4ALL is related to your sound card - so don't remove this.
4a & 4b) Are installed by Windows update and are required for alot of apps to work so don't remove them.
5) MS Sync Framework can be used by some apps to talk to databases, it is an extension to .NET so I would err on the safe side and leave it inplace - probably installed by Windows Update.
6) This is a generic uninstaller that is used by some software e.g. DVD Videosoft. Dont' remove this one.
7) Needed by a lot of apps to work, there are updates for this package which contain fixes and security updates, which is probably why it appears twice. Don't remove this one either.
Intel Storage Manager - This is the system board drive for you SATA controller don't remove this.
Microsoft .NET 4 Client Profile - installed via Windows update - needed to run some newer apps. Don't remove this.
Search Settings v1.2.3 is MALWARE / SPYWARE - PLEASE REMOVE - Follow removal instructions here to remove completely :
Vista Codec package is required to play certain video & audio file formats - please don't remove.
HotSpot Shild is used to protect your privacy on public wireless networks - matter of personal preference but you can remove it if you want.
MShotspot shield 1.07XML is sintalled by Windows update and required for some apps to work, don't remove this.
Bonjour - Is an apple product use to find Apple devices on your network. If you don't have a Mac or Ipad or other Apple wireless device that you want your PC to talk to remove this.
HPSSupply - Is the shop for HP Supplies applcation - you can safely remove this.
Intel(R) Graphics Media Acclerator Driver is your graphics card driver - don't remove this.
Conduit Engine is MALWARE / SPYWARE - PLEASE REMOVE - follow instructions here
hi gett fetti, okay what we are looking at is the Dlink is part of your wireless router so do not delete this it is your drivers so your wireless router will work. Null soft is software that you bought with your computer i would investigate this one it might have expired so dig deeper to question it from your computer manufacterer. ansio4all again investigate this not sure whaty it is so question manufacturer about this one too it is a driver for something that was installed but if you haven't used it in two years it is probably safe to uninstall but to be sure. microsoft .netframework 3.5 is you had your files extended but i see that you have microsoft .netframework 4 so they work together but i would update it so go ahead and uninstall it and reinstall it online and also install microsoft .netframework 1.1 this download is set to handle any conflicts it is important. microsoft sync is a extra to sycranize your computer files but you do not have any files to sycranize so go ahead and uninstall it it is a driver not important. uninstall 1.0.0.1 a download that didn't go through so uninstall it. good luck hope i was helpful to you
